About Me:From a medieval monastery to a nineteenth-century wine estate. From an efficient winery to an enotourist complex. Travaglino is one of the oldest wineries in the Oltrepò Pavese area, immersed in a rural and wooded landscape of uncontaminated beauty.
With 400 hectares in a single body, of which 80 hectares of vineyards, 12 farms, a historic village and a guest-house.Travaglino is a universe of emotions where grapevines, men and landscape demonstrate the complexity and beauty of a territory rich in history and tradition.
The estate dates back to 1111 and since 1868 it is owned by the Comi family. Vincenzo Comi has chosen Travaglino for the beauty of the landscape and because it is suitable for the production of wine. The vines and the main wines are Pinot Nero and Riesling Renano. The calcareous clay soils, between 250 and 350 m s.l.m., with south-west exposure, maintain acidity and aromas. Respect of the grape before and of the wine as well is subsequently the production philosophy of Travaglino, each step is important to maintain and increase the quality.
